IGCN Participated in the Biggest Philanthropy Event in Indonesia

Initiated by Indonesia Philanthropy Association, the Indonesia Philanthropy Festival 2016 (IPFest 2016) – “Fostering Partnership for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” was conducted in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on 6-9 October 2016. This biennial event marked the largest philanthropy event conducted for the year. IGCN participated in the opening plenary session by presenting “Multistakeholders Partnership for the Achievement of SDGs.”

We also set up an exhibition booth showcasing the SDGs that IGCN and its members are currently focusing, namely : Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). The programs below highlight these 3 SDGs :

  • “Rain Water Harvesting and Reverse Osmosis” program (Atma Jaya Catholic University)
  • “Beauty Green – Beautifying Indonesia, Greening the Nation”program (Martha Tilaar Group)
  • Interfaith Mass Wedding for “Fulfilling the Civil Rights of the Under-Privileged Indonesian Families”. This program has been an ongoing IGCN’s Business for Peace program.” (Yayasan Pondok Kasih)
  • Presentations, Dialogues and Ceremonial Signing:
    • CRBP Learning Forum
    • “Walking the Talk: Promoting Accountable Business through Advancement of UNGP on Business and Human Rights Implementation in Indonesia,” a collaborative project OXFAM, INFID and IGCN supported by European Union EIDHR
    • “Community Education to Raise Awareness of Water Security and Water Quality in Small Islands” a partnership project between IGCN’s Indonesia Water Mandate Working Group and Indonesian Science Institute with the support of UNESCO at Pari Island, Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta
    • Uni Papua Football Community for Friendship and Peace – children character building through sports (Uni Papua)
