Jakarta, February 16th, 2023 – Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN) and Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya (PPSJ) joined forces to drive sustainable development in Jakarta. The two parties held a meeting on February 16th, 2023, to discuss the implementation of sustainable development principles in the business sector.
IGCN, a local network of the United Nations Global Compact, is dedicated to promote sustainable development principles in businesses, as outlined by the United Nations (UN). Meanwhile, PPSJ is a Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) that focuses on infrastructure development, land provision, and asset management in the Jakarta area.
During the meeting, PPSJ introduced various programs that they have implemented to promote sustainable development in Jakarta, including affordable integrated-housing development programs, waste treatment facilities, and the implementation of the ten principles of the UN Global Compact which is in line with the company’s vision and mission.
Sarana Jaya’s commitment to implement the four pillars of the UN Global Compact principles, including anti-corruption, was also highlighted during the meeting. “Throughout 2021 to 2022, we have obtained ISO 370001:2016 certification for the implementation of the Anti-Bribery Management System, and also launched the Whistle-blowing System of Sarana Jaya,” said Bima Priya Santosa, Director of Administration and Finance at Sarana Jaya. Certification for Quality Management System and Risk Management Implementation at Sarana Jaya were organized to guide the company to be more transparent and accountable in carrying out its business.
Josephine Satyono, Executive Director of Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN), praised Sarana Jaya’s efforts in realizing sustainable development principles, and expressed hope that the cooperation between IGCN and Sarana Jaya will strengthen to drive the realization of shared visions to achieve sustainable development goals in Indonesia.
