15 May 2024 – Indonesia Global Compact Networks (“ÏGCN”) empowers the next generation of innovators through its Sustainable Development Goals Innovation (“SDGI”) Accelerator for Young Professionals. This is a unique opportunity offered to participating companies within the UN Global Compact network, empowering the young talent within these organizations to collaborate and drive business innovation that aligns with the SDG. It focuses on the development and implementation of innovative solutions through cutting-edge technologies, initiatives, and business models that contribute to the company’s sustainability objectives.
This is the second year of SDGI Accelerator in Indonesia, involving 16 youth innovator teams from 15 companies throughout the nations. Started in February 2024, in addition to the young innovators, the SDGI Accelerator engages CEOs, Government Agents, UN and Business Practitioners. This year Indonesia’s Young Innovators are from: (1) PT Bank Jago Tbk; (2) PT Domas Agrointi Prima; (3) Dynapack Asia; (4) HHP Law Firm; (5) PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk; (6) PT Kalbe Farma Tbk; (7) PT MMS Group Indonesia; (8) PT Mowilex Indonesia (two teams); (9) PT Paragon Technology and Innovation; (10) PT Pertamina Hulu Energy; (11) PT Pertamina International Shipping; (12) PT Prasadah Pamunah Limbah Industri; (13) PT Samudra Indonesia Tbk; (14) PT Singaland Asetama (SGA); and (15) PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk. By the time this program ends in September 2024, we will have an established global network comprising young professionals from Global Compact companies.
This intensive six-months program is designed to activate the potential of future business leaders and changemakers. The team needs to identify opportunities and create solutions that not only benefit their respective companies but also contribute to the broader goal of advancing innovation for the SDG. It encompasses a variety of components such as worldwide webinars, local training workshops, mentoring, live case studies, interactive sessions with both peers and experts and challenge labs. The activities are centered on a “learning by doing” approach emphasizing practical, action-oriented experiences to address real challenges and capitalize on existing opportunities. These young innovators are closely mentored and tracked by experts to provide guidance and support throughout the process.
We are incredibly grateful for the National Research and Innovations Agency’s (“BRIN”) ongoing support and commitment to the SDGI Accelerator program. Through their contributions, we can set up an “Innovation Hub” to ensure the actualization and sustainability of our young innovator’s outputs. It includes a local ideations session to guide these young innovators running their research for their innovative output. The BRIN’s patronage motivates us to keep improving, and we look forward to finding new ways to collaborate with BRIN even better, in regard of innovation and sustainability.

Studies have shown that innovation is a crucial part of doing business at all times. The business objective has to fit with market needs and be able to sustain for a long-term period. Innovation has also a great role in increasing the resiliency, adaptability, and growth of the business. Connecting sustainability with the challenge of the global economy will be beneficial for each of the stakeholders. We believe this Accelerator program can foster a new community of emerging leaders disrupting traditional ways of doing business and spearheading change for true SDG impact.
