This marks an important step toward strengthening global partnerships for sustainable ocean development. Key representatives from Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs attended the meeting, i.e: Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Deputy Coordinating Minister for Maritime Resources Firman Hidayat, alongside representatives from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations. Representing IGCN were Y.W. Junardy, President; Josephine Satyono, Executive Director; Andi Rahim, Secretary-General; Evy Rosriani, Senior Manager Program; and Aina Putri Fadilla, Program Manager Business Ethics and Governance.

Also in attendance were Sturla Henriksen, Special Adviser for Ocean; Vincent Doumeizel, Senior Advisor for Ocean; Tolulope Lewis Tamoka, Chief, Intergovernmental Affairs and Africa, and Harold Kent Heredia, Program Management Officer/Senior Manager, Government Relations and Africa of United Nations Global Compact.

This collaboration aims to enhance research and development in tropical seaweed, a key resource for sustainable ocean practices, and further supports global efforts in ocean conservation and innovation.
