IGCN, in collaboration with Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi and Columbia Indonesian Society, successfully organized a dynamic event hosted by the Consulate General of Indonesia in New York on 22 September 2024. The event, “Finding Equilibrium: Crafting Your Role & Career Pathway for Indonesia’s Economic Transformation,” brought together current and future Indonesian leaders for an interactive dialogue on sustainability and economic progress.
The session was opened by H.E. Bapak Winanto Adi, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in New York. More than 80 students from leading universities, including Columbia University, NYU, Cornell University, the University of Pennsylvania, MIT, Yale University, and LSE, attended the event. They had a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and gain valuable advice on how to build an impactful career path in sustainability.
The event features insights from CEOs on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainability practices while showcasing innovative projects from the SDG 2024 Innovation Program. The activities included the presentation of the young innovators’ project & KEM Company Network, where young innovators presented their sustainable projects, received feedback from industry leaders, and built networks to support sustainable economic transformation. This was followed by the Human Library/ World Cafe Session, which was divided into four tables with different topics, where participants could share their perspectives and ideas to contribute to and support the innovative projects and discuss with the CEO leaders.
This event marks a significant step forward in equipping Indonesia’s young generation with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to contribute to sustainable economic transformation by fostering dialogue and collaboration among future leaders.
