Ocean for the Future Investment Roundtable and the Launch of Plankton Manifesto

Ridha Wirakusumah, CEO of Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) took part in the Ocean for the Future Investment Roundtable on 23 September at 45 Rockefeller Plaza, New York.

The meeting gathered the finance value chain, including multilateral development banks, investors, asset owners and companies, alongside governments, to consider systemic policies needed to support a regulatory environment enabling an increased volume of investable projects. The roundtable also considered an enabling environment for private capital, what investors are doing today, and how the finance ecosystem gathered around the table can support more action.

The CEO Roundtable session also followed by a networking reception where the UN Global Compact Ocean Stewardship Coalition also launched the Plankton Manifesto. A call for Plankton-Based Solutions to address The Triple Planetary Crisis (biodiversity, climate & pollution).

The Plankton Manifesto is a result of a collaborative effort, led by the United Nations Global Compact, that involved 30 international experts from leading institutions and industries worldwide. It will seek endorsements at key global environmental conferences, including COP29 on Climate, COP16 on Biodiversity, and the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, France, in June 2025.
