The Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN) is a powerful force for good in the fight against corruption. As the local chapter of the UN Global Compact, IGCN works closely with businesses in Indonesia to promote ethical practices and transparency.

The UN Global Compact’s 10th Principle sits at the heart of this fight. It states that businesses should actively combat corruption in all its forms. IGCN takes this principle seriously, providing its members with the tools and resources they need to implement effective anti-corruption programs.

Here’s how IGCN tackles corruption:

  • Raising Awareness: IGCN organizes workshops, training sessions, and conferences to educate businesses about the dangers of corruption and the benefits of ethical conduct.
  • Sharing Best Practices: IGCN connects businesses with successful anti-corruption initiatives, allowing them to learn from each other and develop robust programs.
  • Promoting Transparency: IGCN encourages businesses to adopt transparent practices like clear financial reporting and strong whistleblower protection policies.

By working with businesses, IGCN creates a ripple effect. As companies strengthen their anti-corruption efforts, the overall business environment in Indonesia becomes cleaner and fairer. This benefits everyone – businesses, investors, and the Indonesian people as a whole.

IGCN have been collaborated with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime to conduct corruption risk assessments in specific sectors, like forestry. This allows for targeted action against corruption in areas where it’s most prevalent.

The fight against corruption is an ongoing battle, but IGCN is well-equipped to lead the charge. By promoting ethical practices and empowering businesses, IGCN is helping to build a brighter future for Indonesia.
