The UN Global Compact Transformational Governance team organized the UN Global Compact Transformational Governance Think Lab and Legal Leadership Network Launch Meeting, which served as a collaborative working session aimed at shaping a fresh leadership platform for professionals in the fields of law, ethics, and risk management. The session was attended by IGCN’s President, Y. W. Junardy, along with participants from Baker McKenzie, Cemex, Enel, SAP, The B Team, and Oxford University taken place at RELX Group, New York on 20 September 2023.
The Transformational Governance Think Lab meeting was divided into two dynamic sessions, each addressing key elements of responsible business conduct. In the spirit of collaboration and continuous improvement, the next steps involve incorporating all the feedback received into the development of the Transformational Governance Self-Assessment Tool, as well as further refining the scope and nature of the Legal Leadership Network. The launch of the Transformational Governance Corporate Toolkit, which included the Transformational Governance Self-Assessment Tool, three issue briefs generated from Transformational Governance Think Lab Consultations, and a key messages document, is scheduled for the Private Sector Forum at the 10th session of the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) Conference of the States Parties (CoSP10), taking place on 11-12 December 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
The Private Sector Forum “The United Nations Convention Against Corruption at 20: Uniting Leaders for Business Integrity” is now open for registration. This two-day event, convened by the UN Global Compact in collaboration with the UN Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC), will occur as a part of the Conference of the States Parties (CoSP10) to the UNCAC in Atlanta. Prior to this activity, the UN Global Compact is introducing a Call-to-Action, an appeal by companies to governments to intensify efforts to tackle corruption affecting business communities around the world, and to join forces in this endeavor. This Call-to-Action will be launched at the beginning of the event. We encourage you to be a part of this Call-to-Action as this critical initiative urges governments to underscore anti-corruption and good governance as fundamental pillars of a sustainable and inclusive global economy and embrace them as important values of the 2030 Agenda.
